Upon receipt I was un-impressed enough to seek out another case from a different vendor. The leather is very thin, if it is leather at all. The interior surface and flap to protect the pens is made of some synthetic velour. The zipper was very fine toothed, and it easily stalls and grabs. I found a much better case on Galen leather, made of heavy leather with a robust zipper and sued interior. Far superior for only 30% greater cost. Put another way, , it was easily a 75% better product for a 30% greater cost.

Designed and construced quite well for the price and works as intended so far after 1 month of use. Of course there are better cases out there with better quality materials and more features or customization ability but this works well for my basic purpose of storing and carrying 24 pens safely, along with a few ink syringes, 10 spare nibs in a small ziploc bag, and a flat silicone Goulet nib removal tool which doubles as a scratch guard because I lay it between both sides of the pen case as an added layer of protection to make sure my pens don't touch each other even when I press on the side of the closed case firmly. I saw 2 reviews that said the dark color of the felt lined divider of specifically the OXBLOOD dark red case bleeds into the plastic of some white or lighter colored pens but I haven't noticed that happening with my BLACK case after 1 month of storing 2 white JinHao X159's, a white Montegrappa, and a white MontBlanc pen in the case which I always keep closed so the felt lined divider is always in contact with those white plastic pens. If I do eventually notice that problem with this color case I'll update this review, but so far so good. I'd recommend it for a nice midrage started case if you just need to carry up to 24 pens and no paper or other accessories or refilling/cleaning supplies.

This pen case is very good value for the money. The construction is sturdy and it sits nicely on a bookshelf next to my notebooks. I purchased the Black case to store my collection of LAMY safari and AL-Star pens that have been multiplying like rabbits. The pens fit nicely in the straps, and are well presented against the black velvet. Unfortunately, that's where the "issue" comes in. The black color from the velvet rubs off on the safari pens. After a couple of weeks they really started to look dirty, especially the lighter colored ones like the 2022 cream special edition. I tried cleaning with water, Dawn and a tooth brush to no avail. I tried Koh-i-noor Rapido-EZE technical pen cleaner at full strength. No dice. I then reluctantly moved to a stronger solvent (70% IPA), which I was careful to use very quickly and remove immediately. This worked, but is not advisable as it has the potential to damage the plastic. I have moved the safaris out of this case. The Al-Stars have no trouble, so I will use this case for them exclusively. I may pick up the Bomber Brown for the safaris since it uses a different backing material.

Very well made and beautiful case. The holders are not too large or too small.

I bought this to protect the fountain pens I invested in and I was not disappointed in my purchase. This is made of a stunning leather and has a soft velvet material on the inside. I have used this to stroe my pens in as well as everyday use without a single scratch to any of my pens. This was a well invested in purchase.
