I sure hope this is an anomaly -- it's definitely the first time I've encountered a problem with a Clairefontaine product. Several pages into this notebook -- poof -- the paper started sucking up ink like a sponge. At first I thought it must be my pen or my ink so I tested. Resting different nibs on the page I watched the ink spread and it only stopped when I lifted the pen. The blotches bled through the next few pages. So -- the rare Clairefontaine lemon. This notebook gets zero stars, but I'm giving a rating of four because of course this is presumably a very unusual example.

I enjoy writing in this journal very much with my various fountain pens. The paper is wonderfully smooth and easy to write on, The size of the journal makes it easy to carry anywhere.

This is a great notebook. lays flat and is not so thick that us left handed writers find it difficult to use. Nice color and easy to spot among my other notebooks. Oh and smooth paper as well.

I love these little notebooks. They have plenty of paper but are still small enough to fit in my purse, the paper is excellent quality, and they're just the right size for poems. I always have trouble finding the right notebook for my work but I'm so glad I ordered two of these, because I'll definitely be filling them up! Very simple yet fun 'old school style' notebook with wonderful smooth paper. The binding holds very well and lays flat for easy writing. Very fountain pen friendly.
