Delta Spaccanapoli Fountain Pen - Terre
Spaccanapoli, one of the oldest and most iconic streets in Naples, Italy, is not only a place rich in history and culture, but also a source of inspiration for artists and creatives. From this breathtaking backdrop, this exclusive collection of writing instruments is born, each reflecting the essence and spirit of Spaccanapoli. These pens are not simple writing instruments, but true pieces of art, designed to capture the lively atmosphere and unique hues of the city of Naples.
This Delta Spaccanapoli fountain pen was hand turned from a single bar of flecked brown resin, that also has blue throughout. It features a silver clip with a roller, and elegant trim rings with a subtle blue accent. This color is a Goulet Pens exclusive!
It is fitted with a standard international converter and also accepts standard international ink cartridges. The stainless steel #6 fountain pen nib is made by the German brand JoWo. In addition to several standard nib sizes, there is also a flex nib variant that allows you to alter the line thickness by varying the pressure applied to the nib.
Delta, the renowned Italian pen brand that has been creating stunning and distinct pens since the 1980s, has made a triumphant return after it ceased operations in the 2010s. This new Delta brand has been personally revitalized by Nino Marino, one of Delta's co-founders who also owns and manages Maiora and Nettuno pen brands. Each pen is handmade in Naples, Italy, and is individually numbered.

I wasn't sure about the colors from the photos. I am glad I took a chance on this - various shades of reddish browns with blues and a few flesh colored flecks. Unusual but lovely. I purchased this with a broad nib and it writes smoothly right out of the box. Nice comfortable weight in my hand. I would not post this - just feels "off" for me. I am enjoying using my first Delta.
Well balanced, can post but not necessary, overall fit and finish is nearly perfect, grip diameter is generous, of course the resin and trim are beautiful, this will be my new everyday writer as it checks all the boxes. Thank you to Delta for making an affordable and quality instrument.
The pen is absolutely gorgeous the 5\6\24 new release video does not do this pen justice its more of a burgundy and blue rather than brown and blue. If the Filomarino Blue had the blue of this pen I would have went with it but the depth in the resin\acrylic is amazing. I just had one tiny issue and it was a paper thick gap at the nib tip but a few criss crossed of the tines and it was fixed so not really an issue. Thank you to the Goulet pen staff you all do an amazing job and please keep up the great work.
My Delta Spaccanapoli Terre, build number 009, arrived in fine condition. The pen has very striking looks, an interesting shape and a very light weight for its size. Out of the packaging the Flex fine nib lays down a lot of ink; quite a wet writer indeed. For its length, the larger than average grip section works quite well for me. Its length allows me to comfortably write with it un-posted. The fit and finish is of a high quality. In sunlight or bright indoor lighting, the blue looks spectacular against the other brown and red hues. I do like the pen, although I would not buy a second Spaccanapoli. IMHO, compared to the only other Italian pens I own, Maoria Aventus and Impronte models, the thickness of the resin of the cap and barrel are quite a bit thinner. I suppose that is how they are able to get the price point down to $120. Once I find a source to purchase an additional Delta extra fine nib from, it will enter my regular rotation amongst my Maoria, Edisons, Esterbrooks, Moteverde's and Conklin All American's. Overall, the Delta Spaccanapoli is a wonderful introduction to Italian "Fatto a Mano" pens.
I don't know what to say except that this is a very nice pen, especially considering the price! The material is lovely, though initially, it does have a chemical smell that I have noticed on other new pens. But I have found in the others, that it fades with a short anount of time. The pen is a little girthy, which I really like. It is very comfortable in my hand. And the fit and finish of the pen is excellent! I purchased the 1.1 mm nib and find it smooth, wet, and having no hard starts when writing. I think this is a wonderful pen.

How do I fill a fountain pen with ink?
It depends on the pen's filling mechanism, which you can find in the Technical Specs section above.
Here's a quick definition of the most common filling mechanisms:
- Cartridge - A small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write! Check out our quick guide here.
- Converter - A detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter. Here's a video for how to fill a cartridge/converter pen using a LAMY pen as an example.
- Eyedropper - A pen that utilizes the entire barrel as a reservoir for ink. Ink is directly filled into the barrel, allowing for a high ink capacity. Here's a video on how to do it!
- Piston - A type of filling system that uses a retracting plunger inside a sealed tube to draw ink into a pen. They are typically either twist or push-operated. These pens cannot accept cartridges or a converter, and only fill from bottled ink.
- Vacuum - A push-style piston that uses pressure to fill the large pen body with ink. They seal the ink chamber when closed, making it ideal for flying without risk of leaking. Check out our video on how to use a vac filler here.

How do I clean a fountain pen?
It depends on the filling mechanism, but it mostly comes down to flushing it out with water, and sometimes a little bit of Pen Flush if the ink is really stuck.
It's a bit easier to show than to tell, so we've put together a few quick videos showing you the process:
How often do I need to clean my fountain pen?
We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors.
Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.
My pen won’t write! What do I do?
First things first... make sure you have ink in the pen! Be sure that the ink cartridge or converter is seated properly in the pen, and that you aren't out of ink.
We always recommend you give your pen a good cleaning first, using our Goulet Pen Flush, or a drop of dish soap in some water. New pens often have some machining oil residue left in the feed, so a good cleaning often does the trick first.
If that still doesn't work, try priming the feed. This consists of either dipping your pen nib and feed in ink, or forcing ink from the converter down into the feed.
