I purchased a couple of different notebooks last year, still trying some of them, but this one I ordered a second notebook in a different color.What I like about it; a) Size is just right for journal work. b) Paper is very good with any pen I put to it. Smooth, but not too smooth, does not bleed. c) White paper. d) Price is good. e) I can push the spine flat enough to write almost to the page end.Balance of paper, quality of the binding, size, and the price, I call this a solid notebook.

I have been using these for many years and love them. My writing is a bit messy because of a wrist injury, but I can control the pen much better with this smooth paper, and of course, the notebooks are beautiful.Some years ago they stopped being sold locally, and I found Goulet. Never had a single problem ordering from them. I'm back to buy a supply for the next year.

This is great ink resistant paper, giving great shading. I love the cover texture and surprisingly the cloth binding has completely held up so far. Highly recommend!

This is my first experience with Clairefontaine paper and I am impressed. Each fountain pen in my very small rotatable pool (of two) write very well on this paper. There is no bleed-through or feathering, which is sometimes a problem with my Noodler's Creeper. I live in Japan where the paper quality is pretty high. This is on par or better than a lot of Japanese notebooks that I have used. Aesthetically, it is also a nice notebook, simple and well-made. No buyer's remorse here, just a newfound addiction to Goulet Pen Company.

Clairefontaine paper is very smooth and consistent, and handles fountain pen ink well. But because it is so smooth, it can reveal imperfections with your technique. I mean that with an italic or stub nib, the paper can be more sensitive to you being on the sweet spot than other papers. But the writing is comfortable and beautiful on the paper. I've bought a few of these, and will certainly buy more.
