My wife gave me a Sailor Maki-e Butterfly and others many years ago and I just could not "get into it", so I put them away. Many moves later in December 2023, I watched some GouletPens videos, pulled out those pens out, cleaned them out, and got interested in the fountain pen experience. Using software, I identified the Butterfly and ordered Diamine ink, the converter and cleaner from GouletPens. It immediately snapped back to life and writes beautifully. I actually carry my pen with me all day long! I like it so much that I am trying to find reasons to write with it. I am finding myself writing out notes that I would usually type.And hand writing letters to clients. Go figure.
The piston pusher thing isnt flat inside and its very hard to turn. Would rather just refill cartridges.
This converter works perfectly in my Sailor Fude pen. I love having waterproof ink in this great pen.

What is a converter?
A converter is a cartridge-shaped reservoir that allows you to use bottled fountain pen ink, when a cartridge would otherwise be your only option. Fountain pens that have this option are usually referred to as a cartridge/converter pen, or C/C for short.

How do I clean a converter pen?
You can clean a converter by flushing it out with water, the same way you would use it to fill your pen, but instead of ink you’re just using water or a Pen Flush.
