This Galen Leather A5 zippered notebook folio is the perfect way to store your everyday essentials for work, study, or personal use. It has 4 credit card holders and a long pocket that keep your passport or your mobile phone. Under the left side, there is a sleeve for storing your iPad device. On the right, you can store a hard or soft cover A5 notebook. There are slots to support a sidebound or topbound notebook.
This beautiful folio has a removable 4 slot pen holder, 2 extra pen slots, and a slot for a charger, earbuds, or a cable. A removable keychain in found in the middle of the cover.
Crazy Horse Smoky leather is a distressed grey color showing undertones of black and rich grey. This leather ages and softens quicker compared to regular leather, with a suede feeling finish.
This folio measures 7.3 x 9.2 inches (18.5 x 23.5 cm). It is made of 100% vegetable tanned cow leather with a velvet lined interior and a YKK zipper.

The Galen Zippered A5 Notebook is well made and designed. I am very happy with the color of the Crazy Horse Smoky grey. The leather is definitely 'pre-scuffed' so I need not worry about scratches I might add � it will simply enhance the character of the leather. While I had some issues with my order, I'd particularly like to thank Jessica at Goulet, who kindly worked with me to find mutually agreeable resolution. This is better than I expected, I love everything about it, you start for a great packaging made with quality in every detail. Product is absolutely well made, great construction, quality is awesome, this is better than I expected. Not I can carry all my stuff in a simple package without a backpack, in it fits all: A5 Hard Cover Notebook, Kindle Paperwhite 6.8', 5 Fountain Pens, 1 Mechanical Pen, I Love get all together.
This folio is great for me it fits a Leuchtturm 1917 and 6 pens, I usually carry 4. There is a bit of bulge from the pens, you can see in the pictures.
This folio is almost perfect for me. I went with the grey, which is a nice neutral color and not overly girly or masculine. It smells of amazing quality leather and the pen loops are perfect for my large and small pens with only my Lamy CP1 Falling out. My only con is that I can't fit a hardcover notebook along with any pens. I use an A5 notebook with 160 gsm paper and it barely zips with the journal and pens (it's a literal stretch but doesn't feel like it will break anything). A hobonichi cousin would be a tight fit but the 6-month version fits fine. I'm definitely going to be adapting my bullet journal to the folio since it's too nice and convenient not to use!
In the short amount of time that I've been using this it has developed some unsightly scuffs in the leather. Its scratches very easily just from being thrown on the passenger seat of my car or my travel bag when on the go. Aesthetics aside it is very functional.
FAQs about Pen Storage
What’s the best way to store an inked fountain pen?
There is no right or wrong way, but a lot of people find that storing them nib up is good if your pen tends to run wet, or nib down if your pen is more dry writing.
Horizontal is never a bad way to store your pens either, and is what the majority of the Goulet Pens team does.

Help! My pen leaks when it’s in my purse/bag/pocket!
As fountain pen ink is water based, and fountain pens are basically a controlled leak, any type of jostling motion can cause the fountain pen ink to leak out. We recommend you do not carry them loose in anything where they could get jostled and cause the ink to leak out.
