Galen Leather Zippered 10 Slot Pen Case - Crazy Horse Forest Green
This Leather Zippered Pen Case has a velvet lined interior and holds up to 10 pens. When you want to carry your favorite pens, you want them protected in your bag, purse or pocket to avoid ink leaking everywhere or getting them scratched. This leather pen holder is great to protect your fountain pens and keep them safe.
With 10 elastic loops, each slot can hold up to a 145 mm (5.6 inch) long pen.
Crazy Horse Forest Green leather is a distressed dark green color showing under-tones of light green, Sacramento, and emerald. This leather ages and softens quicker compared to regular leather, with a suede feeling finish.
This pen case measures 160 mm x 125 mm x 30mm (6.3" x 5" x 1.2"). It is made of 100% vegetable tanned cow leather with a velvet lined interior and a YKK zipper. It is hand stitched using waxed polyamide thread. The edges are beveled, waxed and burnished for a finished look.

This leather case is practically perfect in every way. I thought it was going to be too short for a few of my longer pens, but they (just) fit. The leather is beautiful, I bought it in the green color, while the zipper is sturdy and works easily. As a seamstress/tailor, I've been trying to design a perfect pouch, with limited success. So I ordered The Galen Pouch in gorgeous Sherwood Forest green. Goulet's service was its usual best: and the pouch was everything they said it was. It might be a little tight if you have larger pens, but my Montblanc Meisterstruck and friends (the Monteverde Blue Mts of the World looks very lovely inside and is about the max size in length to fit) are all sweetly cuddled up together and nicely protected. I will keep a business card inside, and I have made up pen and ink charts in Indesign so I know what inks are loaded. The quality is very good: hefty zipper, fine quality leather looks dyed to match. 10 is a manageable size for daily carry. As my collection grows, I will buy again to accommodate. Also not that as a military family, we appreciate Goulet's honoring those who serve Happy camper here with my pen bug out bag.
I have purchased other Galen products before, the quality is excellent, I agree with some of the other reviews that it is a little small when you have filled it with 10 fountain pens. However the zip appears to be of high standard and durability but I am always careful when I close it as not to catch the cloth cover in the zip as this sometimes can happen. Its a beautiful green and I have since purchased the notebook folio in the same Forest Green. I hope that you will stock a wider range of Galen items in the future.

This case is gorgeous and very well made, most assuredly! As a few others have said here, it will not fit larger pens. If you have ten pens about the size of a Decimo, this should be ideal. Any larger, and I find the case is tricky to zip closed and misshapen when it is. That concerns me as I don't want my pens squished. I have experienced, as others have said here, that the flaps are prone to catching in the zipper, as well. I'm no designer but I rather think if both sides were deeper, it would accommodate the pens much better. If I hear Galen has redesigned this to remedy both if these issues, I'd definitely buy that in a heartbeat.

What’s the best way to store an inked fountain pen?
There is no right or wrong way, but a lot of people find that storing them nib up is good if your pen tends to run wet, or nib down if your pen is more dry writing.
Horizontal is never a bad way to store your pens either, and is what the majority of the Goulet Pens team does.

Help! My pen leaks when it’s in my purse/bag/pocket!
As fountain pen ink is water based, and fountain pens are basically a controlled leak, any type of jostling motion can cause the fountain pen ink to leak out. We recommend you do not carry them loose in anything where they could get jostled and cause the ink to leak out.
