In honor of their founder Zeynep's last design, Galen Leather has finally brought her dream to life. As a lover of all things vintage, she was inspired by the design of a traditional medic kit bag and adapted it to incorporate the Galen Leather product range.

Crazy Horse Tan leather is a distressed tan-brown color showing undertones of brown, caramel and walnut. This leather ages and softens quicker compared to regular leather, with a suede feeling finish.
When closed, this bag measures 11.4 x 7.87 x 3.14 inches (29 x 20 x 8 cm) and weighs about 2 lbs (0.9 Kg). It is made of 100% vegetable tanned cow leather. A versatile leather strap allows you to carry the bag over one shoulder (ideally) or wear it like a backpack (though, this arrangement may not work for all body shapes/sizes as the strap is not extremely long).

I wasn't born with the natural gift of organization. In fact, I jokingly say my life is a controlled chaos. From deep thoughts to grocery lists and distributor orders, appointments and schedules. I've used a assortment of bags to carry my life around, always cluttered and a little chaotic. When I saw this bag on Goulet Pens the sky opened and Angel's began to sing lol Not really but it felt like it. This bag perfectly holds all my things in a clean and organized manner while looking timeless and classic. My travelers notebook that holds my schedule and cards, my everyday A5 journal, my passport fieldnotes wallet, as well as a emergency medic pouch and of course all my pens and notepad, with just enough wiggle room to add a pen or two. It's almost like magic so much can fit into such a small bag without feeling overstuffed or to heavy. It's not just a writers bag, it's capable of carrying a writers life around.

I splurged and got myself this beautiful bag. I'm an artist and I'm always carrying some assortment of art supplies since I do a lot of my work outside. The bag is clearly well-made and durable, so no worries about taking it in the field with me (literally!), in fact I know it will only look better with use. This is a compact and smaller sized bag so I use it when I don't need to pack a lot of supplies. It securely packs my fountain pens, pencils and misc. stuff, plus a smaller sized sketchbook or notepad. Beautiful and fun to have!
My Galen Writers Medic Bag arrived in Canada quickly without issue. The bag is outstanding, high quality, looks fantastic. The size is perfect for my needs.
It's a really bag made of really nice leather - it has enough capacity to hold my sketchbook, my bullet journal, and several pens/pencils for my drawing and writing escapades. I wish it was a smidge bigger, because its max width is 10, but for my usual size of sketchbook, that's not the end of the world. There ARE some components that you could probably use that stuff on to keep the screws tight, but again - minor issue. Overall, I'd recommend it to anybody who carries around small to medium-sized books and a good selection of pens.
FAQs about Pen Storage
What’s the best way to store an inked fountain pen?
There is no right or wrong way, but a lot of people find that storing them nib up is good if your pen tends to run wet, or nib down if your pen is more dry writing.
Horizontal is never a bad way to store your pens either, and is what the majority of the Goulet Pens team does.

Help! My pen leaks when it’s in my purse/bag/pocket!
As fountain pen ink is water based, and fountain pens are basically a controlled leak, any type of jostling motion can cause the fountain pen ink to leak out. We recommend you do not carry them loose in anything where they could get jostled and cause the ink to leak out.
