I have quite a few inks in this series, and they have been excellent. Lilac Night is a muted gray-purple that is suitable for professional work. I find the ink just a little drier than most Diamine inks, which makes it more suitable for writing on slightly lower quality paper. There is a modest amount of shading. If you want something a little different in a bluish ink to put in a work pen, this is a good one to consider.

I need blue-black ink for documentation in my private practice. I have tried many brands and colors of blue-black. Although this ink is described as dark lilac, it actually writes more like a blue-black. I use a custom Edison Morgan with an italic stub fine point. This rarely dries up in the pen. It is super smooth and a joy to write with.

I just got a sample and loaded it into my new Vanishing Point (M nib). It is super fast drying and doesn't even pickup on my hand as I work across the page. The color is a dark grey/purple. Lots of shading. I did a water soak--30 seconds running and a grey shadow remained after 3 hours in the bath. I have tried it on both clairefontaine paper and multiple cheap papers and it does not feather on any. It holds a nice edge. Bleed-through has only happened when pressing ******* copy paper. I haven't noticed any nib creep. In short, this ink performs very well. I haven't done a fade test on it, but it's performance in other ways makes it super useful.

I have been playing with this ink for several months and have been on the fence about whether I love it or hate it. On high quality paper such as Tomoe River which I use in my TN, I love it. I love the color and the shading. It behaves itself, doesn't bleed and has a soothing readback - especially in the medium to broad nibs. However, I work in an office environment and we don't get to use high quality paper. I chose this ink because the color was interesting without concern for being work appropriate. I had it in my LAMY Safari with a fine nib and hated it! On the cheaper paper it looked more like water color instead of that popping purple-black that appears in the swatch and on higher quality paper. I put it in an extra-fine TWSBI and liked it a little better. It certainly has its place, but for me, that place isn't work! I'm switching back to my go to blue ink for use in the workplace. But if that quality doesn't bother you, then I say go for it because otherwise, the experience is pleasant.
