Made from natural resin uniquely mixed to represent palettes of oil paint, this Visconti Van Gogh series is inspired by the artist's color and technique. Each pen represents a specific Van Gogh painting. The pen utilizes Visconti's eighteen-faceted design, with the many edges enhancing its vivid colors. This Wheatfield with Crows inspired blue fountain pen features a gold-plated stainless steel nib. A converter is included, and it also accepts standard international short cartridges.

It comes in a special gift box that includes a matching bottle of a new Visconti cobalt blue ink. This special edition is dated and numbered (3500 pieces in total), and the nib is unobtrusively and elegantly engraved with the artist's name.

Wheatfield with Crows is one of Van Gogh's most famous paintings and can be admired at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.

Blue and yellow, a touch of black. These are not only the main colors of the painting, but also the feelings that we perceive. Looking at the artist's works, impressions become colored, chromatic combinations stir up emotions that find no other name except the name of the color itself. Blue and yellow come to life; they are no longer complements but become the true, compelling subject of the work. This combination of pigments arouses beautiful feelings, which is what Visconti has in mind as they design pens that pay tribute to this great painter of the 1900's.

We do our best to photograph the pens to show how they will appear in person, but due to the nature of the material, expect some variation in the pattern from what you see here.

Note: Visconti has been in the process of changing the design on the Van Gogh nib as well as the font featured on the clip. Yours may vary from what is pictured here.

Great pen! Writes a little heavy but that’s what I read in the reviews and one thing I like about it. Quick shipping and nice website.

Visconti Van Gogh Wheat Field with Crows

Very problematic for the price

When this pen works, it writes very nicely. It's smooth and wet - exactly what I enjoy and hoped for. It's extremely inconsistent though. I had to very thoroughly clean it out of the box to get the ink flowing decently, but even then, it would take a while to start and randomly stop very frequently. Online research shows QC on these is very poor, so you either get a great pen or a dud. The quality otherwise is top notch and the pen is beautiful and feels great.

Visconti Van Gogh's are Spectacular

This is a wonderfully smooth pen. Everything works perfectly. I love the magnetic cap. Truly a great pen. I can't say enough good about - especially for the price.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use this pen with ink cartridges? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses standard international ink cartridges, a common size which is available in many colors from various brands.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.
