LAMY AL-star Fountain Pen - fiery (Special Edition)
One of two special edition LAMY AL-star fountain pen colors for 2024! The LAMY AL-star is the aluminum big brother to the LAMY safari. The red translucent triangular grip section makes it great for those starting out who have no idea how to hold a fountain pen, but it's used and loved by fountain pen lovers of all levels of experience.
This fiery red anodized aluminum AL-star features an interchangeable black steel nib, which can be easily swapped out for another size.
This fountain pen comes with a blue LAMY ink cartridge so you can get started writing right away. If you'd like to use bottled fountain pen ink, you can also purchase a LAMY Z28 converter.
Note: To ensure quality performance, LAMY tests their pens as a final step in manufacturing. If you happen to see any residual blue ink, rest assured that this is normal.

Great pen. Use it daily.
I purchased this pen as soon as it was released. Its first fill was with Pilot Pilot Iroshizuku Momiji – the combo of beautiful & reliable pen with a gorgeous ink from a consistently well-behaved line couldn't help but result in a very satisfying writing experience. The colors are NOT subtle, but who wants subtle? At least not all the time. If you want color that pops and a pen that never misbehaves, you'll be pleased with the AL-star, Fiery.
I love using this pen. I'm very glad I purchased it. I'm also very glad this company has numerous resources to learn and prides themselves on being so accessible. As a result I haven't had a single issue ordering, receiving my orders (that's a big deal, not everyone ships to Alaska) and learning how to use and care for my items.
I know that it's typically the LAMY Safari that is touted as the starter pen, but I picked this as well as the Aquatic to be the two pens that really got me into the game. I chose these because of the materials overall as I'm very tired of planned obsolescence and had a deep desire for things that are built to last. That desire led me to searching through the pens one might typically wait to get a bit later and I stumbled on these. They are amazing pens and write very well. I love the feel in your hand, the light weight and the interchangeable nibs are a plus. I have two sets of these and I plan on using them for a long time to come.
I enjoy my new pens. I enjoy all my Lamy pens. They are my favorite pens.
