Great item!

Zipper is great, smooth and does not catch. Loops are good for all normal sizes of pens. Leather is beautiful. A quality item.

Girologio Brand Pen Cases Are My Favorite So Far

Firstly, I guess the first thing I notice is that this product is a high-quality leather product, clearly made to be both highly usable and durable. The zipper is mounted on nicely-flexible canvas cloth, and operates easily in both directions without any difficulties. The loops and velvet-ish soft surfaces of the interior are sure not to cause any wear on even your finest pens. I would like to mention a few things that I didn't really pick up on from the pictures, and which I found pleasantly surprising:1. The exterior leather surface is pleasingly soft -- rigid so that the case holds its shape well, but not hard like a certain other brand (which can be nice if you like it that way). Instead, the surface is soft like suede. I really like that.2. The case has 2 loops per pen, and while this is not quite as convenient as the single-loop cases, it is certainly no hassle either, as pens are easy to get in and out. When unzipped, the cloth material around the outside edge easily moves out of the way for getting pens in and out from above the top loop. One thing that is pleasantly DIFFERENT from the single-loop cases is that the lower loop holding the pen barrel securely, DEFINITELY ensures that even if the case is dropped hard on its edge, your pens are NOT going to clank together inside and possibly be thereby damaged. This is a nice quality given how much value I place on some of my pens and their appearance. When pens start to get very pricey due to exotic materials, this quality in a pen case starts to become more and more important. In my opinion, while convenient, single-loop pen cases would not provide adequate safety for super-exotic pens.3. Packing Other Stuff: Once loaded with pens, there is just enough extra space around the spine of the 12-slot case that it allows for things like spare nibs, or ONE relatively small ink container such as the Pineider Pen Filler (10 ml). I used the word or because I don't think there is enough room for both (if nibs are loose) without risking damage to the nibs. However, loose spare nibs could be stored in an empty Goulet Empty Ink Sample Vial -- or in the case of TWSBI nibs, they come with their own protective case. Either of these could be safely mounted in a pen slot.4. For those who care about where their money is going, Girologio leather products appear to be at least SOLD from headquarters in Niagara Falls, New York. I didn't find any statements about where they were made, but can only suspect they are made in the USA. (This latter is an assumption on my part.)5. Finally, after close review, this brand DOES seems to accomplish one of the aims in the mission statement on the Girologio website: Girologio believes that leather accessories for pens should be of high quality, affordable for the masses, and provide great attention to detail. With the manufacturing partner committed to this vision, Girologio has crafted a product line that is unsurpassed with respect to price and quality. As a conservative customer, I actually DO agree with this. I believe this aim has been achieved. And in my own words, it is my opinion that the Girologio brand offers the best value for the money of all the brands I have sampled so far. Finally, I have tried a sampling of pen cases from various brands in order to find out what I liked best and what seemed most workable when carrying a small collection of pens around. Because I am so fond of the soft outer surface, Girologo is the one brand which, at this writing, I believe I will be investing in exclusively as time goes forward and my collection grows.

An excellent case at a good price. The leather of the case has a nice 'feel'. It holds thin and thicker pens securely.Exactly what I expected..... I consider it a good purchase.

FAQs about Pen Storage

What’s the best way to store an inked fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

There is no right or wrong way, but a lot of people find that storing them nib up is good if your pen tends to run wet, or nib down if your pen is more dry writing.

Horizontal is never a bad way to store your pens either, and is what the majority of the Goulet Pens team does.

Help! My pen leaks when it’s in my purse/bag/pocket! 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

As fountain pen ink is water based, and fountain pens are basically a controlled leak, any type of jostling motion can cause the fountain pen ink to leak out. We recommend you do not carry them loose in anything where they could get jostled and cause the ink to leak out.
