This A5-sized notebook features 48 sheets (96 pages) of 8mm lined ivory 90g Clairefontaine Triomphe paper. Both fountain pen and marker friendly, the paper is super smooth, acid-free, and pH neutral. The notebook has a sewn spine binding, yet also lays flat! The dark blue cover features silver stamping.

Up until a few months ago, I was somewhat despairing in my journaling experience: my all-time favorite A5 notebook, Apica Figurare, had been discontinued: this notebook had the uncanny combination of consistently excellent paper, sturdy construction, and reasonable pricewhich of course means it was too good a thing to last. Tried a few alternatives, but they ended up being either mediocre in paper quality, inconsistent from notebook to notebook, or discouragingly pricey (I usually try and buy several at a time). The moment I heard Clairefontaine was releasing a notebook based on their Triomphe stationery pads, I jumped to get hold of one to try � Triomphe has been my go-to stationery for years, and if the notebook was at least half as good as that, I'd be sold. The great news is that it's every bit as good, and better-still, it's priced within reason. The design allows the notebook to lie *just* flat enough for lengthy writing, which was a concern of minenot quite perfect, but more than good enough. Seriously FP friendly (my pens: a pair of Pilot Custom 823s F & M nibs, plus a F nib Pilot Vanishing Point). Highly recommended.
I really like the paper quality and am not bothered by the bit of bleedthrough I experienced. Unfortunately, though, the spine of my notebook is split near where the pages are stitched to the cover and the silver/foiling is rubbing off of my cover.

I have never had one of these and am pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. The inks I buy show well and the paper just feels good! I will buy more.
