I was not sure if I should make a purchase of this ruler or not when Brian confided : ' superficial scratches throughout.'In my 81 years of life, I never met a single sane-minded merchant as honest as he is. No offense here please, Brian. I appreciated and still appreciate his honesty, frankness, and, above all else, his personal and business integrity, so I decided to pat him on the back by ordering one and find out how bad those scratches are for myself.My order arrived and sure enough there are scratches on both front and back side of the ruler. I have hated myself for being a perfectionist and fastidious since I can think. And yet with this ruler with imperfection, mostly sur le derri�re, they don't bother me at all.Scratches aside, it's robust and hefty for what measures L200mm, W50mm and H1mm small tool. It's made of solid brass and markings are etched and filled with black paint. I use it as an 'ornament' sitting atop sheets of paper and use it to draw lines, etc.My goto writing instrument is a wood-cased 'fountain pen' which dispenses the 'special ink' of graphite persuasion. So, that makes Brian's warning : ' you don't use this product with fountain pens' irrelevant for me but an honest advice something I appreciate. I highly recommend, the ruler as an ornament, paperweight, or ruler in a traditional sense. I received my order packed "ridiculously" well wrapped and in good shape thanks to Brandon, if I remember his name correctly.

Looks great, easy to read. A very nice ruler to leave on the desk!

Not sketching much now but, so far, I really like the ruler. It is wider than most small rulers so both edges can be used. It is a great fit in the holder I have for my pens and small sketch book. I look forward to using it more when I get out more.

I love this ruler! I use it every time I bullet journal.

It is thick and sturdy. A very exceptional ruler.
