Uh . . .

It's a cartridge cap. It works. What else is there to say?

Perfect

It's a basic thing really - and yet so essential if you're planning on using cartridges with your Pilot Capless pens. I'm pretty certain you get one with every type (Decimo, VP and Fermo) but it never hurts to have a spare (or in my case - 3 or 4). The converters for these pens lack capacity - which is unfortunate because I honestly believe these are some of the best pens for work. A cartridge solves that. Whether refilling or using a fresh one, you need a cap to protect the cartridge. If you have a Pilot Capless have Goulet throw one in your next order. They work beautifully in all three types of Pilot Capless pens.

Needed when using cartridges in Vanishing Points

I've bought two Vanishing Point pens, one in 1999 and the 2014 LE. Both came with these caps. This metal cap sets the precise length of the nib assembly so the mechanism properly retracts and the seal valve closes. When using plastic cartridges (either new or refilled) the mechanism presses against the soft plastic. This well made, mirror finished stainless steel cap prevents that. BUT, THESE DO NOT COME WITH THE NIB ASSEMBLIES! I forgot that when I ordered the new 1.0 stub nib for the VP and will be ordering one of these for it with my next order. Using the Con-20 converter, but prefer cartridges so I can check the ink level in them. I want the larger capacity than you get with the Con-50 converter.
