Ink Review

Supplies Used:

LAMY AL-star with medium steel nib
Rhodia No. 16 dot pad, 80g white paper
Tomoé River 52 gsm white paper
Leuchtturm1917 80g notebook

Smear Test (Dry Time):

~20 seconds – This ink is a darker, more saturated color, but it still dries in just over 20 seconds.

Drip Test (Water Resistance):

Low – If this ink gets wet, it won't hold up well and won't be easily legible anymore.

Saturation:

High – The majority of the time, this ink will come out very saturated with colors in the purple range. If it's getting lighter in color, you may be running low on it the ink in your pen because this ink is pretty saturated.

Ease of Cleaning:

Moderate – Cleaning this ink out of a pen isn't the worst amongst all of the inks but it takes a bit of effort to get all of it off/out of your pen, especially if you have a demonstrator pen.

Shading:

Medium – There can be a few different shades that show up when using this ink which can range from a slightly more pale looking purple to a deep plum purple.

Flow:

Moderate – There should be no flow issues with this ink but it also doesn't gush out of your pen like some wetter inks tend to.

Packaging and Aesthetics:

Since it's part of the Yurameku collection, it can change colors and the way it looks when used on different papers. It also can have a slight bit of a reddish-purplish sheen to it if it's saturated enough on the page. It's also fun to watch it dry as you write with it.
