Ferris Wheel Press Glistening Glass is a part of Ferris Wheel Press' FerriTales collection. Glistening Glass is a pale blue shade that leans toward gray on most paper and is well-behaved enough to use daily. Read our impressions below.

Ink Review
Supplies Used:
- LAMY AL-star with medium steel nib
- Rhodia No. 16 dot pad, 80g white paper
- Tomoé River 52 gsm white paper
- Leuchtturm1917 80g notebook
Smear Test (Dry Time):
- 5-10 seconds – Glistening Glass had a nice fast dry time. Lower saturation of the color means less dye to dry on the page!
Drip Test (Water Resistance):
- Medium – This ink is oddly water-resistant! The drips that would annihilate other inks didn't quite move this ink, and the swipe of the cotton swab left a smudged but legible line.
Saturation:
- Medium – While Glistening Glass isn't the darkest blue/gray shade we carry, it does have some body to it, and when applied with a swab or a very wet nib, it will leave a nice dark line.
Ease of Cleaning:
- Low – Shimmer inks are rarely easy to clean with just water, but Ferris Wheel Press inks have not given us as much trouble with cleaning as others.
Shading:
- High – There's lovely shading with this ink, and when you use a more absorbent paper like the Leuchtturm1917, it really shines.
Flow:
- Medium - This ink leans toward the dry side, but it's not uncomfortable. Flow was great for moving the shimmer around, and it felt nice to write with, especially in a larger nib size.
Packaging and Aesthetics:
- Ferris Wheel Press has lovely boxes individually designed with custom artwork, and this box is no exception. The bottle is on the smaller side, and would be a bit difficult to fill your pen from so we recommend decanting the ink into a different vessel.

Summary:
Ferris Wheel Press Glistening Glass is a sophisticated slate blue with striking gold shimmer. Depending on the paper you use and the amount of ink you put down, this ink can be a pale, delicate color or a dark, almost grayish-blue tone with some cool shading. Either way, this is a fun ink if you want a little flair.
