Introducing the Sailor TUZU Adjust fountain pen, designed for all writing styles and habits. With two innovative features, this pen dispels the belief that fountain pens are complex and difficult to use. Experience effortless writing and comfort like never before.

The "Rotating Nib Feature" lets you customize the nib and grip rotation to your liking, while the "Natural Fit Grip" ensures a comfortable writing experience for all finger sizes and positions. With 10-degree rotation options, you can find the perfect hand position while maintaining proper nib alignment on paper. Additionally, the rounded grip has two grooves for easy and comfortable holding. The TUZU Adjust is versatile in accommodating left-handed writers, steep angles, and various gripping habits.

This sustainable fountain pen is made from mint green recycled polycarbonate. Each pen comes with a stainless steel nib and Sailor's slide-type sealing feature in the snap cap to prevent ink from drying out.

Packaged with a Sailor proprietary converter and two ink cartridges, this pen is ready to bring joy to writing for a long time to come.

Not a fan

Had high hopes for this pen but am disappointed. It skips, stops flowing, and is just plain unreliable. Cannot recommend.

Solid purchase, everyday writer

I'm so pleased with this TUZU pen. I love the retro Mint Green color, and the pen is a solid writer comparable to the Lamy Safari. I like this pen better than the Lamy, as it conforms closer to my writing and hand, and the TUZU is not as mushy as the Lamy. I use the converter with Celadon Cat, and the writing is sweet! I prefer this writer to the Sailor Compass, as I don't like an EF line. I got this one in B because it was all they had left at the time, and it is not too broad but more like a wetter medium with the Celadon Cat. I use this pen every day on Clairefontaine and Hobonichi papers--nice pen for the money!

Good, not great

I like this pen, but if you have a thicker pen with a comfort style grip (lamy safari, kakuno, pelikano, etc.) it won’t add much to your collection. I also prefer other brands’ stainless nibs; the stiffness of this nib isn’t my preference. I’m a lefty who “hooks” to get the right angle for ink flow and I found that the adaptive grip could be useful if I was trying to train myself to write in a “normal” posture, but I don’t use it as much as I thought I would.

Great pen

My new Sailor Tuzu is a comfortable and smooth writer. Having had some previous thumb surgery it helps to adjust my grip! This pen helps me with that!

Fill the converter, not the pen

The usual excellent Sailor nib. The grip section easily stained when I filled it with my usual document ink. This seems to be a different material than the blue Tuzu that did not stain. I recommend filling the converter with a syringe rather than trying to find the ink level in relation to the "heart hole". This staining accounts for only a 4-star rating and is only for this color (my blue Tuzu gets all 5 stars).
Who knew that 10-degrees to the left would make such a difference! I look forward to Sailor putting this adjustable grip on a weightier pen.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill this fountain pen from an ink cartridge? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses proprietary Sailor ink cartridges, which are available in a wide range of colors.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.
