About the Sailor Manyo collection:
Flowers have always been a popular poetic subject dating back to ancient Japanese history. This is the theme for Sailor's Manyo bottled ink series. Based on popular flowers frequently mentioned in Japanese “Manyoshu” – an anthology of compiled ancient poems – Sailor has chosen eight dye-based ink colors to best represent this vibrant palette range.
"Manyosyu" - Collection of Ten Thousand Leaves - is the oldest (c.759) and most revered anthology of Japan's poetic compilations. Over a period of four centuries, 4,516 poems were written by every class of person ranging from Emperors to merchants and farmers. "Manyo" is an abbreviation of "Manyosyu" and its meaning indicates people of all ranks.
"Manyosyu" is often regarded in Japan as a true expression of the Japanese spirit. The themes of the poems relate to love, elegies, nature, the seasons, and so on. Flowers are especially relevant in Japanese culture and about 1,500 of the poems in "Manyosyu" cover some 160 species of plants and 50 different flowers.

I write in my hobonichi and the flow was great. The color wasn't what I was expecting. It's more orange than I thought. The picture I used was written on onion skin paper.
This ink is lovely, it's so vibrant and pretty! It's a tad on the coral side so if you want a true pink this might not be the one. But it is sooo gorgeous, I've been using it nonstop!
I filled a TWSBI Eco EF with this ink. If worked well even on plain paper in a spiral notebook.
This ink lived up to my expectations. The soft color is absolutely beautiful, and it writes smoothly in my medium Kaweco Sport. It's become one of my favorite writers!
I don't know why I was so surprised when it turned out to look more orange than pink, because it looks exactly like how it does in the images above. I was hoping it'd be more of soft peachy pink, but it straight up looks like peach. The shading is beautiful, though. Still doesn't look pink. I don't think it looks like a sakura color either, then again the sakura colors vary a lot... The ink itself is awesome. Just not pink.
