50ml Bottle

50ml plastic bottle of Robert Oster Signature fountain pen ink in the color Dragon's Night.

Dragon's Night is part of the "Get.set.GO" palette of inks for late 2018, which includes Burned Orange, Crocodile Green, Deep Purple, Dragon's Night, Hot Pink, Red Candy, and True Blue. In the words of Robert Oster, this collection is is inspired by "The landscape around me.. the colours I see in birds.. flowers, leaves and even the bark of Australian trees.. all composites of the palette for this set of seven."

Dragon's Night represents the color of "something that keeps me awake as I ponder the dark midnight Aussie sky."

All Robert Oster Signature Inks are handmade in Australia. The recyclable PET bottles are manufactured in Australia's first carbon neutral plastics plant.

Note: Robert Oster is in the process of changing the labels on their bottle and the label on the bottle you receive may vary from what is pictured here.

A message from Robert Oster:

My great interest in fountain pen inks – and by extension inks that combine many creative applications – began with the birth of my love of fountain pens in 1989.

As Robert Oster Signature Inks are quite recent to the market, think of the interim between 1989 and today, as the fertile ground into which my present love of all things ink was seeded and grown.

The contents and packaging of my Inks are all nature friendly and the colours a genuine inventory of the Australian palette.

Robert Oster Signature originates from one of the most famous wine producing regions of the world, the Coonawarra district of South Australia, an idyllic setting with great influence on the senses. There is my inspiration. It’s a joy to share it with you.

New favorite blue

Got this is a random sample pack and I’m so glad. At first writing I thought the name didn’t quite fit (bright not so dark blue), but when I came back to the page 15 minutes later to find it had changed to a deep dark blue I was absolutely dumbstruck. So much fun in a tiny sample bottle. Will definitely purchase a full one.

Dragon’s Night Forever

The perfect ink. If you’re looking for a great choice outside the realm of your typical black or blue ink, I highly recommend this. Goes down dark and beautiful.

Oster Dragon's Night

Robert Oster makes veru high quality inlks that perform very well, I have several of them. The only issue that I have with Dragon's Night is that it's rather dark, which is not necessarily a detriment. As I try more and more inlks, I find that I have trouble distinguishing the darker blue-ish colors from each other, so maybe that's something the makers need to work on.Some of my faves are RO Clearwater Rain, Iroshizuku Tsuke-yo, Asa Gao, and Herbin Eclat de Safir. Much darker than these and they start looking very similar to me. Maybe this is unsurprising, but I prefer the blue colors in which subtle variations can be seen.

Unexpected

I like the ink just fine, in terms of useability, but it doesn't remotely match the sample I got beforehand. I adored the vivid blue of the sample and this is more of a purple blue? It's rather odd.

Rich, vibrant, wet, beautiful

Ooh, what an ink. It's a blue purple, or blurple if you will. Fun, yet professional enough for workplace or everyday. So deeply saturated. Ink it into a wet writing nib and enjoy some sheen on nice paper like Tomoe River.Robert Oster is an outstanding Australian ink maker and company I am proud to stand behind. Goulet has always been a wonderful retailer and company all-around. I never hesitate to order from them throughout the past decade. Thank you for this order!

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pens can accept this ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink. You can also refill an empty ink cartridge from bottled ink using an ink syringe.
