This stealth black pen has sophistication that definitely gets noticed and yet remains understated as it flies "under the radar". The three layers of durable black lacquer on this Monteverde Invincia Color Fusion pen create depth and brilliance with the barrel, clip and trim all in stealthed-out black. It fills via standard international ink cartridges or converter (included).

This fountain pen is offered with your choice of a reliable, smooth-writing German made JoWo #6 black steel nib in extra-fine, fine, medium, broad, 1.1mm stub or the new JoWo Omniflex flexible steel nib for variation in line width. With six nib options, you are sure to find a selection to fit your handwriting style.

Our note about the JoWo Omniflex nib: This flex nib will allow you to experience more bounce and softness than writing with conventional nibs. You can achieve some line variation with a little additional downward pressure, to a point. We recommend flexing the nib to about twice the line width that you would see without using any pressure. Please take care to avoid pressing too hard on the nib, as over-flexing could prevent the tines from returning fully to their original position and decrease or stop your ink flow.

Disappointed after two damaged nibs

I have decided to retire it to the drawer after going through two nibs. They catch on the inside of the cap and are quickly destroyed. I like my other Monteverde fountain pens and found the weight and line with this one pleasing until it snaps the nib.

Excellent Fountain Pen

Overall I've really enjoyed using this pen. It writes smooth, comfortable to hold, and looks great. My only complaint is the cap and the quality of the craftsmanship. Just a few days after ordering it the 'ring' for lack of a better word, which has the business name & model of the pen written came off. Just fell out of the cap. I was not pleased, but I decided I could easily fix it. A couple drops of superglue and it was good to go. Then a little bit later I noticed the clip was starting to come loose. It's still attached but it's only a matter of time before it comes off. What drove me to actually write this was review was what happened today. I dropped the pen and it fell on a hard surface floor. The fall was only was a few feet, but the threads inside the cap cracked and fell out. Now the cap won't secure. I called Monte Verde and they were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. For another $20ish (including shipping) they're sending me a new cap. I'll continue to use this pen, as I do enjoy it, but I expected much better quality. To be clear, my issue with the quality is strictly about the cap. I've had no problems with the main body of the pen.

Good pen

The pen writes very nicely, not super smooth but in a good way, the nib is very large and is very wet which isn't great for lefties but even with minimal use a lot of the black paint on the nib has started to flake off. if i don't use the pen for 2-3 days it just doesn't work and i have to wash it which is a bit annoying but it may just be the ink i use

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use this pen with ink cartridges? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses standard international ink cartridges, a common size which is available in many colors from various brands.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.
