Thanks to Drew's video on comparing black inks, this one really stood out to me. I'm using in my Sailor Tuzu - and I rather enjoy the slight blue hue of this ink.
I inked up a Pilot kakuno medium nib with this ink and have enjoyed it immensely so far! I've always looked for a black ink that laid down uniformly and as dark as gel roller balls did and this ink checks that box for me. I have never tried Platinum's carbon black which I have heard is quite a deep black, but the Lamy obsidian has exceeded my expectations!
I'm new to the fountain pens. but I can say that this ink flows better, and appears darker than the cartridge.
I'm a novice fountain pen user, but I love this ink! It doesn't have a super long dry time, it writes beautifully, and it doesn't have a ton of bleed through.
The only thing that would make this a more perfect ink, is if it were waterproof. It has some sheen and great flow. It is a lovely ink.
