This Edison Collier pen is made of Persimmon Swirl orange resin with a gold-plated clip, and a JoWo #6 steel nib engraved with the Edison logo. It accepts a standard international converter (included) or short standard international cartridges.

All Edison pens are handmade in Milan, Ohio by Brian Gray. We do our best to photograph the pens to show how they will appear in person, but due to the nature of the material, expect some variation in the pattern from what you see here.

Awesome pen

Feels terrific in the hand and is a delight to write with. Love the orange colors. Will look for more by this company.

Fantastic value!

I've had my Edison Collier (persimmon swirl) for about a month now. It's a real joy to write with, a good medium weight, with very smooth ink delivery. The pen is also just beautiful--the resin has a slightly pearlescent, even translucent, sheen that doesn't come through in the product photos. I think this is an exceptional value for the price point, it performs and looks better than some pens that cost twice as much. I'd definitely recommend this pen to anyone, and will look at other Edison models when I'm on the market for something new.

In love with this pen

I'll admit, I was hesitant to spend this much on a pen. The photos also don't in any way do it justice, they can't capture the depth that you can see in person. The resin is actually translucent enough in spots that you can see the threads through the cap, but not in an obvious way, you just realize you see them if you are closely examining the pen.So far, I love the size and the girth. I don't normally post my pens, except my Kaweco Lilliput's, so the fact that this cap doesn't post doesn't bother me at all. The weight is good, the balance is good, the quality of the threads and fit and finish is top notch. I was somewhat surprised how many turns are required to get the body off the pen to access the converter, especially compared to the cap. But honestly, I prefer the body be better secured to the grip section, so the extra turns aren't an issue. The cap, by comparison, comes off in 3 quarter turns with one hand, so it's not overly cumbersome to cap and un-cap while writing. I will definitely be picking up some more Edison pens in the future!

Best Pen Ever!

Although I inked it with a color I did not prefer, the pen is ideal. Just ideal. Beautiful to behold. The best grip section ever. Definitely want to add it to your collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use this pen with ink cartridges? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses standard international ink cartridges, a common size which is available in many colors from various brands.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.
