Perfect for my Sailor Compass 1911 - Transparent Brown
Love this color, especially when shaded with water. Looks great and dries quickly on all of the drawing, sketching, and mixed media pads I've used. Paired Diamine's "Writer's Blood" and "Sepia" in the attached picture to draw a Baku.
This s a great color, but when I moved to better paper such as Tomoe river paper 58g, the drying time is horrible 3 plus minutes. Even on fairly generic paper 1-2 minutes. So whatever you are writing on, when you are done with a page you will just need to leave it sit for a long while before turning a page. I noticed oxblood is also very long dry time on good paper. Not sure if this is true with all their inks or not.
This ink is... okay to write with, but I really have fun drawing with it. There is 0 water resistance, so it's fun to move around with a water brush. Shades well.
I was not sure what to expect as this my first Diamine ink purchase. This is a smooth writing ink and dries quickly. The color strikes me as a golden brown and one of may more cheerful inks. I'm typically a blue - black type person. I have to rate the shading as middle because I am using it with a fine nib and can't really say if it is high or low shading.
