Glorious Splendour

The nuance and brilliance of this exquisite ink pairs very well with black ink to make for bold expressive art work. Truly enamoured by the hue of the De Atramentis Mahatma Gandhi that I will definitely explore the rest of their range.

Not a primary yellow, but readable and pretty.

This ink is very readable. It does have an orange tint, similar to golden rod, so it's not a primary yellow. It is definitely yellow, and when I ask non-stationery folks what color it is, they usually say yellow.

Single use ink

I Bullet journal so I wanted a yellow color to use or weather item. This is real yellow.

Nearly the Perfect Yellow

This ink is nearly the perfect yellow. Until you add water that is. Get the sample to add water to, not the bottle. I won't say what happens, but it drastically changes the ink. There is minimal bleed-through on cheap paper. Absolutely no shading or sheen. Period. It seems to be a cross between orange and yellow on Rhodia 80g. white paper. If you like yellow ink, you will (most likely) like this.

Love this Color!

I don't know how to explain it, but this is a very unexpected yellow. It is not a highlighter yellow nor is it a yellow that is difficult to read on a bright white page. It has a depth to it that you would not expect from a yellow ink.Received a sample with my Nov ink drop and had to buy a bottle. Was not disappointed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
