The clip is made well for sure - just didn't fit my optima (which I think is a relatively normal sized fountain pen). I tried to stretch the leather a bit to fit over the pen and it ended up breaking (my fault), so overall it was of no use to me. I think it's a great idea and helpful if your pen fits!

Fit and finish is just what I was looking for

Love the fact that it can grip almost any place on my traveler's notebook. Sad part is that it's not able to hold the fountain pens, just regular pens and pencils. Ok, well not sure on the pencil parts, since not a lot of people will carry pencil.

The loops connected well to the covers we use for our notebooks, however very few fountain pens fit in the loops.

I tried to like it but I personally found it to be a waste of money. The pen loop kept shifting around and occasionally slipping off. The compression between the metal tangs caused the leather to burnish and wear. Found it easier to take it off and leave the pen in the pages. It also helps me to quickly find where I left off. In hindsight, I would have rather put the money towards inserts instead.
