From the Muromachi period (1336-1573) to the Edo period (1603-1868), Ninja were employed by warring feudal lords in various regions. The Ninja's missions included night raids, sabotage, and assassination, but the most important mission was to invade the enemy's camp, gather information on the enemy's situation, and convey this
information to the lord.

Thus, because the Ninja needed to survive and return to their lord living in castles, they often used weapons to protect themselves, such as Swords, Shurikens, Makibishi etc.

Crafted from PMMA Resin with Yuubi Maki-e, this pen is a true work of art. This Sailor 1911 Large fountain pen features different maki-e designs on the dark blue barrel and cap. It is complemented by rhodium plated accents, and comes equipped with Sailor's legendary rhodium-plated 21k gold nib in a wide variety of nib sizes.

The cap screws to open/close and can push to post onto the back of the barrel when writing. The 1911L comes with a Sailor proprietary converter as well as two proprietary Sailor Black ink cartridges.

Beautiful writing instrument

This pen is beautiful, to say the least. After receiving it, I ordered the Gojoh pen with fine nib. Both pens are exceptional and affordable objects d'art. Comparing the two, the In pen with the medium fine nib writes smoother than the fine nib on the Gojoh. At the time of my purchase, the medium fine nib wasn't available. Goulet must have obtained more, as that choice is available now. The fine nib tends to be a bit scratchy. Ink flow on both is fine. Both are a pleasure to write with and admire. Would have purchased all four but budget wouldn't permit it. I currently have both sitting on my desk so I can admire while I work. Best wishes to the Goulet team. You all do an exceptional job. Whoever does your photography deserves extra praise. Their work makes shopping on your site like going to a pen candy shop. :)

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill this fountain pen from an ink cartridge? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses proprietary Sailor ink cartridges, which are available in a wide range of colors.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.
