First Impressions

So far, I love this ink. It puts a deep black line on the page, to begin with, darker than most black inks I’ve seen. Beyond that, I tried this for the first time in a Pilot Metropolitan fine nib that I haven’t used much because it was scratchy and dry, I thought. After a thorough cleaning to get the previous blue ink out and re-inking with this, it writes so smoothly I could almost swear it can’t be the same pen. Using it with a Rhodia Webnotebook, which seems to be the perfect trifecta.

I love this ink. With the right pen and paper combination it flows effortlessly and actually looks black, not gray.

first fountain pen ink!

I have been using the ink for a few weeks now and I have to say its been a great workhorse. I feel like it has great flow but isn't so wet as to pool on the page. All in all for my first ink I have enjoyed it thoroughly and learned a lot about fountain pens with this ink in the barrel.

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink. You can also refill an empty ink cartridge from bottled ink using an ink syringe.
