Good for decoration. Not much more

Have had this pen with a flex nib for about 2 years. Looks great, is on the heavier side, cap does not post. Definitely a desk pen, however even as a desk pen it's not great. Ink flow is inconsistent, frequently running dry even when I use a light touch

Great looking pen, with decent quality

The pen looks even more incredible in person. That carbon fiber just looks asewome. However, you may want to buy a sheet of micro mesh and a brass sheet with it since the nib needs more out of the box tuning than most of the pens in this price range. Also some minor feed issues may arise if you try to use it as a daily writer or leave it filled for a little while without using it. Still my favorite pen but id expect it to write a bit better out of the box for a pen of this price. Does post ok but not super securely.

Wonderful pen... when it works

This is a very nice looking pen. As others have mentioned, the weight of the pen and width of the barrel make writing a bit easier. When the pen works, it's wonderful, and glides smoothly across the paper in clean lines. Unfortunately, I've had problems with inconsistent ink flow. When the pen doesn't work, I have to rewrite the same strokes several times to get it started working again, which makes for clunky and unattractive script. See below an attempt to write out the alphabet. I've tried a few different inks without much improvement.

Lovely pen, with a minor quibble

This is a big, eye-catching pen. It's heavy. The carbon fiber and rose gold are a bold combination. I love it. I have seen some people complain about the nib, but I have had no problem. I have had it for a couple of weeks with Private Reserve Tanzanite in it, and it is what I have been writing with. It's not uncomfortable, and I do enjoy it. I kind of want to try the rose gold colored flex nib (maybe later).SO, here is my quibble. The cap does not post. I have a dozen or so fountain pens and this is the only one that doesn't really post. Sure, you can pop the cap on the end, but it clearly isn't designed for it. It sits of kilter and seems like it just wants to fall off. I probably wouldn't have bought the pen if I knew it didn't post properly. I'm kind of glad I didn't know. For ~100 dollars, it's a lovely pen and a fun addition to my collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use this pen with ink cartridges? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses standard international ink cartridges, a common size which is available in many colors from various brands.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.
