This Galen Leather A5 zippered notebook folio is the perfect way to store your everyday essentials for work, study, or personal use. It has 4 credit card holders and a long pocket that keep your passport or your mobile phone. Under the left side, there is a sleeve for storing your iPad device. On the right, you can store a hard or soft cover A5 notebook. There are slots to support a sidebound or topbound notebook.
This beautiful folio has a removable 4 slot pen holder, 2 extra pen slots, and a slot for a charger, earbuds, or a cable. A removable keychain in found in the middle of the cover.
Crazy Horse Brown leather is a distressed brown color showing a lot of different brown undertones including tan, mocha, and hickory. This leather ages and softens quicker compared to regular leather, with a suede feeling finish.
This folio measures 7.3 x 9.2 inches (18.5 x 23.5 cm). It is made of 100% vegetable tanned cow leather with a velvet lined interior and a YKK zipper.

I love this folio. Galen makes an exceptional product, it looks great, is very well made and most important it holds everything I need for writing at the coffee shop. Four pens and an A5 notebook plus a few other small items, I love it .
This folio is a little pricey maybe. I'm not even sure that it is pricey considering what you actually get. This folio is perfect if you're looking to upgrade from a TN sized notebook into a size that will hold a larger variety of paper. I wanted this so I could explore different paper types because only Midori and Tomoe River are offered in that size. Almost every significant company that makes luxury paper uses the A5 sizing. Beyond that, this thing is just really high qualify. Smells wonderful (new leather), it's got tons of storage options inside of it and I believe it would actually protect anything you put inside of it. It's more substantial feeling than the pics give it credit for. Some notebook covers are expensive, unreasonably so (imo) based on the materials used, everything here is made of leather, with the exception of the zipper (which also works flawlessly and smoothly) and the keychain. I was just really blown away by the quality and craftsmanship and though I'm new to Goulet Pens, I wanted to write here to let everyone know- if this is something you have your eye on- buy it! It's 100% worth the cost, probably much much more. Something like this should easily cost $200 or more. I would snap this up before they raise the price. I will certainly be buying the matching pen case one I pay this off (thanks Affirm).
The holder is really great. I got this as a birthday gift with something that had to be glued together. Before I even got a notebook in it, I got a drop of superglue on the front. It was wiped off really quickly, but left quite a dark spot. So I grabbed some mink oil past and conditioned the whole thing. Man does it look good! It is a little darker, but blended the spot really well. It has some scuffs from use already and they just rub right out. It is developing a great weathered look too. It will be a daily carry for years to come for sure.

FAQs about Pen Storage
What’s the best way to store an inked fountain pen?
There is no right or wrong way, but a lot of people find that storing them nib up is good if your pen tends to run wet, or nib down if your pen is more dry writing.
Horizontal is never a bad way to store your pens either, and is what the majority of the Goulet Pens team does.

Help! My pen leaks when it’s in my purse/bag/pocket!
As fountain pen ink is water based, and fountain pens are basically a controlled leak, any type of jostling motion can cause the fountain pen ink to leak out. We recommend you do not carry them loose in anything where they could get jostled and cause the ink to leak out.
