Modern Fountain Pens with Vintage Flair
Fountain pens harken back to a bygone era and stir up associations of vintage appeal and simpler times. But some designs, in particular, exude and embody the style of a certain time period. While these pens are not specifically vintage, we felt that the essence of each pen's design highlighted or presented a certain part of each time period's aura. Read on to see which pens we've chosen.
The 1900's to the 1920's: Ornate & Decorative
A keen interest in decorative designs thrived in the early part of the 20th century. Beginning with the simple crafted designs of the early 1900s, through the stylistic botanical forms of Art Nouveau in the 1910s, and culminating in the glamorous Art Deco designs of the 1920s, this was a time of attention to detail. The pens we included have an appealing design and tasteful details that accentuate each pen perfectly.

The 1930's through the 1950's: Conservative and Utilitarian
Whereas the previous 30 years focused on the beauty of design, the era of the Great Depression and World War II focused on utility and function. Times were tough and products were admired for their quality and durability early in this timeframe. In the Post-War era, with the advent of mass production, color and uniformity entered the equation. The pens we chose for this period feature subtle, clean lines and sturdy materials.
