Tradition meets innovation in a captivating blend of craftsmanship and artistry. Tsugaru Nuri, a centuries-old lacquerware technique from Japan’s Aomori prefecture, has been meticulously adapted by TACCIA into their ebonite-bodied pens, ensuring instruments that stand apart from the ordinary.
This Ao-Iro fountain pen features an exquisite deep blue urushi lacquered ebonite body, adorned with delicate quail eggshell and raden maki-e inlay. Over 20 different layers of urushi lacquer go into the making of this pen.
It is fitted with a Japanese bi-color 18k gold nib, and fills with either a proprietary Sailor converter or Sailor ink cartridges; both are included. A fabric pen wrap is also included in the wooden gift box.
The Miyabi Shin Tsugaru Nuri collection is limited to 88 pens in each color; each is individually numbered and signed by the maki-e artisan on the pen barrel.
