An ink I'll be obsessing over for months to come

(Review based on use with Herbin dip pen and MF Sailor Pro Gear Slim)This ink's color hits the sweet spot for me; it's rich, vibrant, and saturated without looking dark/black where the ink pools/shades, and it's nice and legible from a distance or in finer pens. It's a great teal that looks gorgeous on Tomoe and still quite nice on cheap copy paper. I'd say it's on the wetter side, but not the wettest ink. I put it in my medium-fine Sailor Pro Gear and the weight of my writing looked nearly identical to my writing with my bold Sailor 1911, which was filled with Sailor Manyo Yamabuki which is a true average/medium flow ink (in my opinion). To give you an idea of just how wet it iswet enough to change the 'weight' of your line strokes depending on the pen and paper you use, but not so wet that I was displeased. Because it's on the wetter side, there's not much shading to speak of; there's sometimes a bit of a halo effect on the letters, or sometimes the first stroke will be a bit darker, but it's pretty much negligible. Maybe if you paired it with a dryer-flowing pen with a bolder nib, it would average out, but I do think that for the most part this is a solid, saturated, what-you-see-is-what-you-get type of ink. And, again. Because it's wetter, on papers like Tomoe, it takes a little while to dry. On copy paper/more absorbent papers, dry time isn't an issue. I love this ink and I think I'll be hard-pressed to find a teal ink that suits my personal tastes better.

My first Sailor ink studio purchase

As with their pens, beautifully performing ink. Not a sheen or shimmer ink, as much as a saturated beautiful hue which performs well.

Love it.

I was just coasting through the colors, looking at Caribbean colors, like the color of the sea in those lovely lagoons. This one looked the part and when I tried it in a Monteverde, it not only ran great... It looked as good as the picture. Sailor inks has this great idea... They give you little number stickers for your pen converter. I put this one's 464 on the Monteverde...will probably just stay there... This is a great color! Very relaxing. Only drawback is that this color is not a good idea on blue or light green paper (of course). Lovely to write with on white or parchment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pens can accept this ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink. You can also refill an empty ink cartridge from bottled ink using an ink syringe.
