Nice ink but more purple than burgundy or red

This ink is a nice pinkish purple color but definitely not the burgundy I was hoping for. Glad I got a sample!

Wetter than expected, and browner than expected

This ink looked a bit different on paper than it does on Goulet's swatch photo, but the ink is still quite pleasant to look at. It's a bit browner than I would have liked. It was also quite wet when I wrote with my medium nibbed Pilot Prera, and slightly less wet with a fine nibbed Waterman pen.

Not for me

Nice color, but the ink is too dry for me.

I enjoyed this ink a lot.

This ink is nice and saturated but still washes out of my pens very easily.

Not sure about the color

Not sure how I feel about this ink . . . it seems to very a lot depending on what pen I use. Sometimes it's really dark and looks almost brownish and sometimes it's really light and distinctly purple. It flows just fine and had decent shading, but I'm not sure how I feel about the color.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
