Great color

For reference, I used this ink in a Lamy All-Star with a Fine nib. It ran very smoothly if a little wet. But no bleed-through and just the slightest bit of feathering. This on Rhodia and Tomoe paper. I absolutely loved the almost black tone with the green highlights. I have other samples to try but will certainly get more of this one!

Already bought a full bottle

This is an extremely dark forest green - looks nearly black coming out of a fine nib. The shading is not extreme, but when you see it, it's obvious where the name came from. It has an extremely - well - velvety look. It's not a loud color, but it's more interesting than your standard dark green or black. I've been in sample all the things mode recently, but once I settle down, I plan to keep this in the rotation for my everyday writers.

Wet DARK green

This is a DARK forest green. I'd almost call it more of a black that leans green. The velvet in the name is apt - it dries with a very smooth texture that is very velvety. The ink is very wet in my TWSBI Go with a Fine nib. Slow to dry, but once it dries, it's hard to smudge. The most notable thing is that while the preview image shows a sheen, I am getting NO sheen whatsoever with it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
