This is one of my all time favorite inks. I've used more of this ink than any other. It writes well, is exceptionally well behaved, has good permanent properties without straying into troublesome territory, and works in a wide variety of pens. Platinum cartridges are some of the highest quality out there, and they are built to be exceptionally strong and robust. The ink is a softer, more muted or steel blue, so keep that in mind.

Happened to purchase a bottle of noodlers black ink and it has made a powerful contrast with the quality of Platinums ink. The noodler feels rough, dries too quickly so that an uncapped pen is unable to write until you fill your margins with scratches to resume the flow. The color of the Blue-black is fine and the ink is very usable for office/everyday work. It dries relatively quick, so no smudges, but the pen doesn't dry out in minutes uncapped. The ink makes for smooth writing and even from the back of the nib for extra fine writing. Platinum did a good job of matching their ink to their nib (Procyon). I think the noodlers ink would do better with a different pen, but for now I'm going to have to be happy with only blue ink from platinum.
