With Platinum's latest technology and innovative cap design, the "Slip & Seal" mechanism in this #3776 Century model prevents the ink from drying out for up to 24 months. This translucent green fountain pen is accented by gold trim and features a 14k gold nib. It accepts proprietary Platinum cartridges or a Platinum converter (both included) for use with bottled ink.

Laurel Green is a fountain pen for winners. The laurel tree has been regarded as a symbol of victory and glory since ancient times. The wreath made from its leaves and branches was given particularly to crown exemplary authors such as major poets who served the king. Likewise, gold is also the color of the medal given to honor individuals for their highest achievement. Therefore, this fountain pen that combines laurel green and gold colors is the most suitable piece that symbolizes honor, glory and victory while increasing your status and power by continuously creating a culture. The Laurel Green fountain pen conveys Platinum's hope to support you in opening a way to new future and winning glory.

My Grail Pen

This was my grail pen. I wanted a pen that was the perfect shade of green, with gold trim and a gold nib. This was it. The green is dark, but not so dark that you can't tell it is green. It's dark enough that you cannot clearly see the pen's inner workings, but translucent enough to catch light just right. I LOVE Platinum nibs. I have a Procyon and a Curidas and I love them both. The fine gold nib does not disappoint. I don't get any line variation, but that's okay, I don't want any. It writes dry, so no smearing, blobs instead of closed-loop letters, or anything distracting to deal with. It works well with some of my wetter inks, particularly the ones that are messy in wetter pens. As always, it was packed with a slightly ridiculous amount of care, a Tootsie Pop and a cool addition to my growing sticker collection. Love it, and love the Pencast. Everyone should have the privilege of loving their jobs as much as these guys.

Beautiful pen great design, writes like a dream

This pen is really delightful. It is my 3rd 3776 and first Century. This pen I chose in a soft fine, and I would add only a critique that the softness does take a moment to get used to and almost writes like the medium in width, but with less consistency in flow. It is fantastic, and once used to the design of the soft fine nib it is consistent and writes like a dream, it is just les wet, in it's light approach and requires a bit more of an intentional hand.

Amazing pen!

The pen looks great and writes amazingly! The gold nib is much better than my previous steel ones. Love the product.

Platinum #3776

Great pen, nothing to complain about it as an object. Should have remembered that Japanese nibs tend to be finer than other ones. F has proven a tad scratchy for a left-hander with a relatively large script. Purely a personal failure in the order, and nothing to take away from the product provided.

Great value

This pen, in soft fine, is my current daily carry pen. Posted, it feels great in my hand. The soft fine nib is a joy to write with. The classic lines of this pen are timeless and I love the look of the pen. I can't honestly agree that this qualifies as a 'demonstrator,' as it's more nearly translucent than a tinted transparent. Still, light shines through and I think it's lovely. For me, this is an excellent compromise between the writing experience of a high end pen and a more reasonably priced pen.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill this fountain pen from an ink cartridge? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses proprietary Platinum ink cartridges, which are available in a few colors.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.

For even more information about fountain pen cleaning, check out our Fountain Pen 101 video blog post.
