Pretty & Fast Drying!

I really like this ink. I think it works much better and shows more color with a wetter nib though. The color is very, very pretty & it dries fast on Tomoe River 68gsm & MD paper. Will be getting a big bottle!

Vibrant

Really nice, smooth ink. My new favorite orange. Even works good on cheap paper.

Awesome ink!

This ink has nearly a perfect flow, it's easy to clean and maintain, and shades very nicely! I'd put this color in the description of classy or fancy. There are no negatives about this ink in my opinion! :)

Sunset at Dawn

Disappointed in how dark the Yu-yake is writing in a Lamy Al Star, narrow nib [nib not marked, suspect it is F]. All Pilot Iroshizuku inks are responsive, giving a consistent line, and reasonably wet, but unless this ink is more orange sunset in another pen, it won't get a higher than average rating from me.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
