Edelstein ink has been one of my go-to inks for years. I was looking for a new shade of green as spring is approaching. And the Jade ink is it.

Of all of the colors that I've written with and shared on social media, this color is the most asked about. It pops off the page with out being obnoxious or understated. One of my favorites.

This ink is as gorgeous as you think it is. The more noteworthy and unexpected thing I learned from my sample is that this is the perfect companion ink to the Lamy blue green al star. I would also put in a special recommendation for cream tomoe river paper. That three-way combination is pretty unbeatable.

Yes, I will definitely say this is really expensive ink. I hope Pelikan takes a look at possibly lowering the price - significantly.After reading a few reviews on how dry and dull this ink performed, I decided that I would use it specifically in a superflex, extremely wet, pen. I am very happy with the match. Laying down a triple broad line makes this color really pop, and allows for a bit of shading that might not otherwise be had with a thin line. The color varies a bit based on the flex of the nib, as well as the brand and color of paper. When the color is at its lightest (a bit turquoise) it is really beautiful. The wetter lines lay down a pretty dark greenish color (on the Exacompta yellow index card, it's a very dark, yet vibrant, green).Basically, the pen and paper play a huge difference in how well an ink will, or will not, perform. It's great that Brian has samples available so that you can try before committing to - in this case - a very expensive bottle of ink.

This is the third ink I have tried in the Edelstein series. so far it is the nicest but its nothing special. i find that this ink is almost an exact match to private reserve d.c. super show but just a touch darker. it behaved ok on lined college paper, offers some ok shading and is not waterproof.
