55ml Bottle
55ml plastic bottle of Organics Studio Alanine, an aqua fountain pen ink with silver shimmer.

Due to the amount of particulate in this ink used to achieve the sparking look, you may experience restricted ink flow in some of your pens. We recommend shaking the ink thoroughly before filling and gently rolling the pen in your hands often to keep the shimmer effect consistent. This will also help prevent clogging. You will also want to be diligent about cleaning and maintaining your pen when using this ink.

Second time around

Loved it earlier and had to get a second bottle! Everything I write is just better in this shimmering turquoise-blue! 😊

Different from sample picture - really interesting

I ordered this ink based on a sample I had received and really liked it. Initially I noticed with a nice wet nib (M or wider) there was a deep red sheen that is not seen when the ink dries quickly (drier nib or more absorbent paper). This time I noticed the ink also has a silver shimmer in it, again not appearing on finer, drier nibs. Currently have it loaded in an Edison M nib pen and the results provide a dark teal with dark red sheen and silver shimmer. Very pretty. It is different from most of the samples on the web site. If you like sheen and shimmer on the right papers you will love this ink.

Extremely fast delivery! as pictured

Great ink, I'm glad to have gotten it when it was restocked! If you are not getting a color change flood the letter a little more, a small pool shines beautifully when dried!!

Beautiful, But Much Darker in Person

I love this ink! It's much darker than the images would have you believe, way more dark teal than turquoise, but it's nonetheless extremely beautiful. The red sheen is very noticeable on the right paper, and the shimmer is super subtle. I prefer my shimmer a little muted, so this is right up my alley, but if you're looking for a sparkly smack in the face you may want to look elsewhere. It's not water resistant at all, so keep in mind that the slightest bit of wetness will make it smear. This doesn't bother me at all, but I can see it being a deal-breaker for some.My only true criticism has nothing to do with the ink. It's the bottle. A little more flair in the presentation would be nice, as it doesn't look great on my desk. I'll live, though.Overall, a very pretty ink that's perfect for me, but might not be right for everyone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pens can accept this ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink. You can also refill an empty ink cartridge from bottled ink using an ink syringe.

Is shimmering ink safe to use in fountain pens? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Yes! Shimmering ink (a fountain pen ink that has small particles of glitter mixed in) is a great way to add some flare to your writing. We have found that a larger nib will showcase more shimmering particles while writing, but you can use any nib size with shimmering ink. While it is safe to use in fountain pens, it may require a little extra maintenance.

Due to the amount of particulate in this ink used to achieve the sparking look, you may experience restricted ink flow in some of your pens, especially with finer nibs.

We recommend shaking the ink thoroughly before filling, and gently rolling the pen in your hands often to keep the shimmer effect consistent. This will also help prevent clogging.

You will also want to be diligent about regularly cleaning and maintaining your pen when using this ink.
