Great Color

I received a sample of this color. I was conflicted between this color and Diamine Salamander. Both have are an earthy green color. A color I was searching for. I ordered two samples of the Salamander because I ran out of the first vial. I was leaning towards it. After much deliberation I decided on the Noodler's Sequoia. I really like the color. It has some decent shading qualities. I mostly like it because it is green, and dark enough that it can still be used professionally. As an Engineer I take notes daily, and attend many meetings. I have no problems using this color in my pens. The writing is smooth, as is the color. It has a very even distribution. It is not too wet when it writes. I have not had much of a problem with bleeding either. I am very happy with my choice. I would really encourage sample purchases. They are not only addictive, and reasonably priced, but they really allow you to explore colors and try them before investing in a bottle.

NOODLER'S SEQUOIA GREEN

Noodler's Sequoia Green lives up to its name! A saturated, pine green leaning towards yellow, reminiscent of a hemlock grove; dark, mysterious, but still clearly green even though on the dark side and still light enough for shading as well. Not water-fast at all, alas! But I do love this color!(Nathan: any way this could be made more waterproof??? It's a thing of beauty.)

I like darker greens

I really enJoy ink colors that look 'plain' at first glance, but reveal themselves to be special only under closer attention. Something of a metaphor...

Dark Green

This dark green was a little too... simple for my tastes. It's a good saturated color, well behaved, just not for me.

Green ink

A very saturated ink. the shading potentially goes from a very dark, near black, green to the color of oak leaves in the spring/summer.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
