Matte bronze, purple when wet

This ink is my regular for everyday writing in my Lamy Safari with medium nib - flows beautifully with a brown look when freshly applied and a yellow-bronze dry down. When wetted, the yellow begins to feather away leaving a very cool looking purple. Depending on the paper, a variety of techniques from spraying to submerging help make the process easier. Gotta say the old bottle design was much cooler but what matters is the ink inside.

Great color! wish it was easier to wash out

I love this kind of gold brown color and I like the purple underneath. My only issue with this ink is how much you have to douse the ink with water to reveal the purple color. Might be easier with an ink blotter but right now, it's hard to bring it out without damaging the integrity of the paper (I'm using a Rhodia notepad)

Cool effect

Love this color. It looks like chocolate brown in the bottle but dries to a lighter brown--a medium. As indicated, if submerged, the ink will turn purple. I tried it. I let a drop of water sit on it for a few minutes, the water turned yellowish, but the ink remained brown. I tried again and let it sit at least 5 minutes. I didn't think it changed---the water was yellowish again, but then when I wiped up the water, by golly the ink did turn purple. No runs, no drips, no errors as Johnny Bench used to say. I did this on Rhodia paper. Changes faster on copy paper. But it doesn't smear. I don't know what purpose the color change has other than seeing what has been in the rain or in a flood, but it still pretty cool.

Great Color!

I much prefer wet ink flows so I struggle to find inks I like. I took a chance on this one because I really liked the color but didn't know if it would be wet enough. I put it in my Conklin All American Broad nib and it's gorgeous. Goes on brown and dries a gold/bronze.

Lovely ink, interesting

This ink is lovely. Love the brown / purple look. Doesn't shade well but still looks lovely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pens can accept this ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink. You can also refill an empty ink cartridge from bottled ink using an ink syringe.
