Bright Pink!

This ink is a very bright pink, so if you're looking for that, this meets it! Even comparing to another pink in the sample vials, it's easy to see there is a difference with this ink as it clings to the sides of the vial a lot more. I tested it on 5 papers: Clairefontaine, Rhodia, Goulet (Tomoe), Traveler's Notebook and Mnemosyne.
It had the fastest dry time on Rhodia and the Traveler's Notebook, with no smearing on either after 5 seconds. However it also had some significant bleed through on both of these as well but much less on the other three.

Having said that, it's a gorgeous color, pops wonderfully on white paper!

Great in Pilot Parallel!

I wanted this ink for highlighter use in a Pilot Parallel 3.8mm. I have not tried it in a conventional fountain pen, but it is excellent for the use I intended it for. Yes, it does smell like paint, but I am not writing with it for any extended length of time so it's ok. It is super bright pink and pretty saturated, though it is transparent enough for use as a highlighter over dark, permanent ink. Over lighter or similarly-colored inks, it does cover them up. Dries fast on copy paper, though it bleeds through. I won't rate it for flow since a 3.8mm Parallel isn't the typical use. I have not yet cleaned it out of a pen or had it sit for a while in a pen. I'm guessing it will be difficult to clean, but we'll see!

Pank

This is highlighter in real life, and that's what I needed it for. I took a star off because I needed to use a wider nib due to its viscosity, and I agree with another reviewer that its a touch stinky.

Noodler's

So I only purchased a sample of this as I am typically not a pink color person. After using this for a while, I would defiantly consider a full bottle. It's almost neon. It fun to use and smooth writing. I have several other colors from Noodler's and I am very happy with them all.

Eyepopping!

Zippy's 3/14/16 Monday Matchup and Madigan's 3/17/16 ink review got me to thinking about this ink, so I read all of the reviews and looked at its properties. A couple of years ago I tried to use Dragon Catfish Orange as an ink for making margin notes and highly visible writing, but it was too hard to read, even after mixing Noodler's Fox in increasing amounts - I never got what I wanted. This ink is probably what I wanted. Very easy to read, so visible, water resistant. I inked up my TWSBI Eco 1.1 and it flowed perfectly, beautifully, and is super smooth. It bleeds through cheap paper, but behaves well on better papers. Super visible. The ink for making eye catching notes, headings, underlines, bullets, arrows, or doodles in your journal or letters. I will get a bottle when my samples run low. No problems, it flows flawlessly through my pen. Some reviewers say it is too thick and doesn't flow well. If it gets like that I'll dilute it with 10% or more distilled water, so easy to do. If this brilliant color appeals to you, you can make it work in any pen by simply diluting. The ink looked exactly like the Goulet photos when I used it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
