It flows smoothly,does not dry out quickly, and is a beautiful color; permitting a high level of legible self expression. It does not bleed through paper more than other inks.
This ink struck me with its deep, rich hue. Purple is the color of royalty and of Advent and Lent in liturgical churches. I received the sample of Nooder's Purple Martin in my birthday assortment of random ink samples. Once I filled my favorite stub-nibbed Metropolitan with this ink, I was a goner. I ordered the whole bottle plus several more sample inks that have been enticing me for several months. Can't wait to see the magic once I try them!! :)
I've been primarily using this on a drawing pad, but also on cheap office copy paper. It does have a bit more bleed-through than some other inks, but there's no feathering at all. it is a very dark purple, much darker than it appears in the swatch above.
Writes smooth, great for darker value. Gotta look close to notice its purple in heavy coats. Smudges after even about 10 seconds of drying, but you just have to be mindful of it.
I bought this ink for my mom and just loaded up my Diplomat Magnum to test it out and it's SO GORGEOUS. I'm sad she took it with her! It writes so smooth and has a great uniform color.
