Noodler's Green is okay.

The ink is okay, but it doesn't flow as smoothly and evenly as Monteverde Yosemite Green, which is a very similar shade.

THE Green

I love green ink. Unfortunately, green isn't the most common ink color and the greens that are available tend to stray towards the blue-green end of the spectrum, whereas I prefer the yellow-green end (Diamine Meadow for instance). So when I ordered this green, I was cautiously optimistic but it wasn't until I had it in my TWSBI Eco (Medium) that I realized how much I love this color. It's just the perfect green. Not too blue, not too yellow, bold, bright, lovely. This ink, like many inks in medium pens on cheap paper, will make thick, wet, fat lines (I haven't noticed any over-significant amount of bleed or feathering though), but on better paper (I was writing on Tomoe River), the ink really shines, shading somewhat and standing vibrant on the page. This ink is in my shortlist for bottles to buy at some point.

It's green...

It's a very standard-looking green. Good daily, I suppose, but you could get a ballpoint for cheaper.

Bright but saturated

This ink is a beautiful green color, with just a hint of yellow undertone. It goes on a nice emerald, but dries just a touch brighter. Still saturated enough for everyday writing, and stands out nicely against both white and ivory paper. Feels pretty smooth in my TWSBI Vac 700. My favorite green is Diamine's Sherwood Green (I just love that deep, rich color), but this is probably my next favorite green thus far.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
