My favorite ink for autumn!

Noodler's Cayenne instantly became my favorite ink. The color is rich and looks amazing on Stalogy paper (which I use for both planner and journal). It flows out of my pen effortlessly and is a pleasure to write with! Using it on the same page as Noodler's Southwest Sunset...chef's kiss!

4.5 Stars Fantastic Shading, very fall color, dries relatively quick, not water resistant

I really love the color and shading of this ink. It reminds me of the browns and oranges of fallen leaves in fall. It's a pretty bronze orange color. It's not water resistant at all so watch out for rain. Flow is great without being too wet and it dries well

It'll look like you signed it in blood! Halloween is just around the corner.

I was looking for a low key red to use in my note taking and this shade will meet my needs. When wet it is a beautiful deep red like fresh blood on the page then when it dries it changes and a hint of brown comes out much like dried oxidized blood.

THAT'S what I call Cayenne!

As a relative newbie to fountain pens, my early ink purchases were primarily blues, greens, and purples (my personal faves). But as I've expanded my pen collection, I've also become intrigued with testing a broader range of inks. Witness Noodler's Cayenne, a bold and bumptious reddish orange that has taken over many pages of my Rhodia essay journal.

Great color

I bought this ink because overall the Noodler's ink are very good. I have no regrets on buying a full bottle of this lovely ink.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
