Faded red

This ink is not a vibrant red at all, it's a very diluted red out to start with and then fades (literally) into a watery reddish pink. It's very hard to red when dry.

Solid red

Nice, rich red color. Pretty middle of the road dry time, very smooth out of a fine TWSBI nib. Will probably get a bottle soon!

Reliable red

Sample done on Leuchtturm1917 paper. This ink leans orange when wet, and leans pink when dry, with some really nice shading. Not very saturated. No special properties (besides fluorescence), so fountain pen friendly paper is a must.

Red isn't my favorite

Simply because I do not see red well (it comes across as orange or pinkish or brown sometimes) this is one of the ones I experience as red almost all the time. I am a fan. Thank you

Performs well on high quality paper

A very pure red ink and performs well on fountain pen paper. Extreme amount of feathering and color change on poor quality paper. Not as saturated as my other Noodler's inks.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
