I received this Noodler's Brown as a random ink sample. Though I am not a fan of the real "dirt browns" out there and this one wasn't on my radar however it has a pronounced redness that I very much like. To my eye, after a proper shake as needed with all Noodler's inks, on Rhodia and in my usual light, this looks very much the same as Diamine's Ancient Copper, even under a loupe, though perhaps tending just a tad darker in the shading. It has similar red-brown to Oxblood (without the violet tones) and Pilot's "sepia" cartridges. It's not as "motor oil brown" as Iroshizuku's brown, nor as chocolatey as the photos may indicate. So, through the life of this sample I can say it is every bit the equal in color to Ancient Copper (my current everyday ink) but with better water resistance and "bulletproof" characteristics. I am using this in a Metropolitan CM (stub) nib and it has a decent amount of shading. It writes a bit wet and takes just a bit longer to dry than some of my others but nothing that would make me shy away. I can highly recommend the color if you like a nice red/orange/brown. Will be adding a bottle to my collection, thanks for this sample GP!

Providing a review because nobody has reviewed in a while. I am new to fountain pens and found this ink flows smoothly in an extra fine Pilot Metropolitan. This ink pulls extremely orange-red compared to the De Atramentis Document Sepia Brown, which I felt was a true brown. The Noodlers Brown is quick-drying, minimal feathering on cheap notebook paper. It's bright and not a dark brown like past reviews mention, which I was really hoping for.

Love browns and this one didn't disappoint. Will get a bottle soon.
