3oz (90ml) glass bottle of Noodler's Blue Nose Bear fountain pen ink. This is a fairly unconventional fountain pen ink, as it has two colors in one. It's a light blue with a teal undertone, and the light blue fluoresces under UV (blacklight). Noodler's inks are handcrafted, so there may be slight color variations from batch to batch.

Should have listened to the other reviews!!

I had really high hopes for this ink because I thought it looked so unique, and thought it could be passable as a daily use as it wasn't too outlandish. I read tons of reviews here on Goulet and other sites, and 99% said the same things: bleeds and feathers like crazy, nearly unusable for writing. I wanted to seem for myself, thinking maybe my pen (Pilot Custom Heritage 92 M), my paper, or writing style would make a difference, because I really REALLY wanted it to work, but the reviews were all pretty much spot on. The feathering and bleeding were so bad, that I cannot think of any situation where it would be acceptable for use for writing purposes. Maybe it could work in artistic applications, or even being brushed on like a water color paint?Fortunately it wasn't terribly expensive, but it was terribly disappointing. For anyone considering this ink and not wanting to believe the reviews, I strongly suggest buying and trying the sample vial first and not going all in on the 3oz bottle like I did. If you do buy it and it works for you, please post a review with what you used and how you got it to work. I'd be curious!

Great color, a bit runny

This is one of the only inks I have ordered without a sample, and I did so because I loved the color. I have run it through Lamy Safaris, TWSBI Eco and Vac700R, and possibly also my Metropolitan. I keep inking it up when I get new pens and thinking "it's gonna do well with this pen this time..." only to be disappointed. It might work better if you're just using it for color, but it's too runny for me to use on a daily basis, personally.

Unstable color

When I first inked up my pen, the color was quite lovely, however, after 3 days, the color shifted to a much, much darker color - very different from the original. I was using the pen to write in my A Few Lines a Day journal - the color on the 1st two days was the same - turquoise. On the 3rd day, the color was very different. I've included a photo, showing the two colors - the bits circled in red were written on day 3 - the rest was written the 1st day. A quick and dirty chromatography using a sample from the source bottle showed a grey component to the dye which, for some reason, became predominant after sitting for a couple of days. Disappointing.

Beautiful Blue

It's hard to say what the flow or the drying time for this ink is as I'm still relatively new to the ink world. However, the colour is a light blue and no hints of green what so ever (from my bottle anyway). Fountain pen I used was a wingsung 698 so it is a very fine nib. There may be more shading if you use a medium nib. Overall still a very nice ink.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pens can accept this ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink. You can also refill an empty ink cartridge from bottled ink using an ink syringe.
