Blue Eel is a lovely true blue shade that is very nicely saturated. I like color and don't like watery inks, so I am very happy with it. It flows well on good paper and it works ok on copy quality papers, just some bleed through on the cheaper paper. I bought both this ink and Noodlers Blue samples to see which color I'd like better. They are quite the same color. I've since learned that Blue Eel is a lubricated ink which is supposed to good to use in piston pens. Brian Goulet has a video on the various properties of Noodlers inks. I have now watched it and learned a lot! For reference there is also a chart on the website delineating the properties.Both the Noodlers Blue Eel and The Noodlers Blue are excellent inks. Great color and problem-free writing in my pens.

I nice vibrant blue that writes smooth and wet. It has a fair bit of shading, more than I had expected. It's about as wet as De Atramentis Aubergine in my other pen but unlike Aubergine, there's no feathering. Bleed-through is very low.

I'd ordered a few ink samples and thought I'd try this one. It flows very nicely, almost on the verge of too freely... but it's best feature has to be the colour. Such a beautiful blue! I tend to prefer darker colours for my journals and planners but I'll be adding this one to the roster!

For all intents and purposes, this is a great blue ink. It's vibrant enough to be the center of attention but not retinal burning like Baystate Blue. I used this ink in a TWSBI Eco and it wrote smoother than most of the inks I've tried. My only gripe is it's not waterproof which is a must have property for me.

This is a good all round blue. didn't notice any shading but loved this ink. Wrote very smooth in a cheep pen.
